Color
Most diamonds look colorless, but there are many subtle shade differences, the closer a diamond is to having no color the more brilliantly it will shine.
Why does the color vary? Due to the extremes of nature that first created diamonds, traces of elements such as nitrogen and boron could have been incorporated into the diamond's atomic structure.
Diamond Hues range from completely colorless to slightly yellow and are graded on a color scale from D to Z set by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Colorless stones, graded D, E, F are treasured for their rarity and value.
